Spirit of BC
Promoting community pride and innovation
Spirit of BC is a province-wide initiative that promotes community partnership, innovation, pride and excellence, and involves British Columbians in the opportunities arising from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Creating opportunities in your community
Spirit of BC is a 2010 Legacies Now program in partnership with the Province of BC. The core of the Spirit of BC program is a network of more than 95 Spirit of BC community committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. Committee members are volunteers who give their time to help their community.
Spirit of BC committees help to plan community celebrations, support community projects and programs, and create opportunities in a number of areas, including sport and recreation, healthy living, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and local tourism. Spirit of BC promotes legacy development, leading up to and beyond the 2010 Games.
