What is the Measuring Up Accessibility and Inclusion Fund (Measuring Up Fund)?
The Measuring Up Fund provided grants of up to $25,000 for communities aiming to improve accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities. The fund assisted local governments and community groups to implement Measuring Up and complete accessibility-related projects. The Measuring Up Fund is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
How many communities have received grants from the Measuring Up Fund?
Eighty-eight municipalities throughout British Columbia have been awarded grants to improve accessibility and inclusion in their communities.
See Measuring Up Fund Grant Recipients for a list of funded communities.
What will the funds be used for? What types of projects have been funded?
Communities use the grants to complete numerous accessibility and inclusion-related projects, which include conducting community assessments, building wheelchair ramps and accessible doors, creating inclusive employment programs, and developing accessible outdoor trails and parks.
See Measuring Up Funded Projects for more information.
Where can we go for further funding opportunities?
Throughout the Measuring Up process, community improvement projects focusing on accessibility and inclusion will emerge. These projects may be capital or program-related, both of which may require additional funding to initiate, complete and maintain. 2010 Legacies Now can help to connect communities to further funding opportunities.
See Additional Funding Opportunities for more information.
