Judy Rogers
Chair, 2010 Legacies Now Board of Directors
Judy Rogers is the first woman to be appointed to the position of city manager and is responsible for the third largest municipality in Canada. Since 2003, she has been recognized every year as one of Canada’s top 100 most powerful women.
Judy has been instrumental in many major city initiatives, including helping Vancouver win the bid to host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Award-Winning
In 2005 and 2006, Judy was listed by Vancouver Magazine as among the 50 most powerful people in the city, and in 2006 she was honoured as one of the most influential women by Business in Vancouver magazine. Judy is also a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Medal for Excellence in Public Service in BC.
Her work at the City has been honoured with two United Nations awards — one for creating Neighbourhood Integrated Services teams, and another for the establishment of the Vancouver Agreement.
Background
In addition to her work with the City of Vancouver, Judy is chair of the Board of Directors for 2010 Legacies Now and serves on the board of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. She chairs the Regional Administrators Advisory Committee for the GVRD and co-chairs the Joint Emergency Liaison Committee for the province and region.
Judy is an avid skier, and lives with her partner Grant in Vancouver.
