2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour
From 2005-2008, the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour travelled to 36 communities to share the spirit of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games with close to 300,000 British Columbians.

The tour travelled to community events and festivals to share the spirit of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and to encourage British Columbians to create their own legacies leading up to 2010 and beyond.
Visitors to the tour were able to:
- Learn how 2010 Legacies Now works with communities to develop local programs in arts, literacy, sport and recreation, healthy living and volunteerism
- Test their winter sport skills at a miniature outdoor curling rink, hockey shoot or ski simulator
- Discover how their community can capitalize on exciting opportunities leading up to the 2010 Winter Games and beyond
Tour highlights
In 2005, the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour started its inaugural tour of nine B.C. communities. More than 88,600 people visited the 2005 tour, which featured interactive activities including a hockey shoot, snowboard simulator and children’s fun zone.
In 2006, the second annual 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour visited ten B.C. communities. More than 28,300 people visited the 2006 tour. In addition to interactive activities for people of all ages, the exhibit also featured a panel of Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic history, and information on Bell’s support of B.C. athletes.
In 2007, the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour visited seven B.C. communities. More than 32,000 people visited the 2007 tour. A smaller version of the tour visited an additional 18 community events and festivals, which was visited by close to 47,000 people.
In 2008, the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour hit the road for its final year. The tour travelled to 17 community events and festivals. More than 100,000 people visited the 2008 tour, which featured a miniature outdoor curling rink and other activities.
