Program funding to strengthen BC arts organizations
From 2004 to 2009, the Catalyst program provided funding support for BC arts, cultural and heritage organizations wishing to enhance their artistic and administrative capabilities.
A more sustainable arts and culture sector in BC
Over the course of five years, Catalyst invested close to $1.9 million in 222 projects in 49 communities. Catalyst supported BC organizations in developing their artistic and administrative strengths through one of four funding streams: developing audiences and markets; consultancies; mentorships; and website development.
2010 Legacies Now is pleased to have met the following objectives through its Catalyst community projects and would like to acknowledge support from its numerous Advisory Panels in helping to reach these objectives:
- Strengthened the arts sector’s economic base and organizational capacity
- Strengthened the arts sector’s ability to build artistic excellence
- Strengthened the arts sector’s ability to establish strategic alliances
A stronger arts and cultural sector was a legacy development of the Catalyst program.
