2010 Legacies Now is a not-for-profit society committed to building a stronger British Columbia.

Our vision

To create sustainable legacies that will benefit all British Columbians as a result of hosting the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
 

Our mission

To work in partnership with community organizations, non-government organizations, the private sector and all levels of government to develop sustainable legacies in sport and recreation, healthy living, arts, literacy, accessibility and volunteerism. 

To actively assist communities to discover and create unique and inclusive social and economic opportunities leading up to and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

2010 Legacies Now encourages all British Columbians to Get Involved, Be Active, Explore Arts, Embrace Learning and, most importantly, Include Everyone.
 

Our manifesto

A legacy is a shadow that stretches forward; an echo that grows louder, a memory that becomes a dream. It is a footprint that we leave, marking our journey from the past, and helping lead the next generation to the future.

2010 Legacies Now is committed to creating opportunities for tomorrow, today.  Building partnerships between people, organizations and communities to help build a better British Columbia.

Inspired by the Olympic ideals of peace through sport, fair play, and the celebration of the human spirit through athletic and artistic expression, 2010 Legacies Now is the spark that lights the fire we each carry inside.   

We believe passionately in the power of one to make a difference in the lives of many.  We believe we are all made stronger by the bonds we forge with those who share our community, our interests and our ideals. People helping people help their communities.

Excellence comes in many forms.  We celebrate them all, from personal bests to world-class achievements.  From playground to podium, audience to stage, and insight to inspiration, our programs and partnerships help create the platform upon which people from all over British Columbia can stand and shine. 

But a dream without a plan is just a wish.  2010 Legacies Now helps open the doors of opportunity for all British Columbians to realize their most deeply-felt aspirations.  The result is found in words that resonate loud and long, a piece of modern art that becomes a classic, or one good deed that inspires two more.
