ABORIGINAL SPORT GALLERY TRAVELS TO B.C. COMMUNITIES

Vancouver, B.C. (May 2, 2008): Fifty communities across British Columbia will get a sneak preview of the new Aboriginal Sport Gallery as it embarks on a 13-week celebratory countdown to the Cowichan 2008 North American Indigenous Games.

The Aboriginal Sport Gallery, a permanent tribute to the unique contributions Aboriginal peoples have made to the B.C.’s sport heritage, will open in June at the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver. However, with support from the Province of British Columbia’s BC150 program, a mobile version of the gallery will join the Cowichan 2008 Spirit Pole tour, completing its journey in Cowichan Bay in time for the official opening of Games.

The Aboriginal Sport Gallery travelling exhibit will feature interactive activities and information panels honouring Aboriginal sport through the years. For more information on the exhibit, please visit www.bcsportshalloffame.com.
