Virtual Voices Village

Virtual Voices Village is a program that provides opportunities for students with disabilities to participate in the excitement of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Virtual Voices Village

B.C. secondary school students with disabilities will develop writing and journalism skills by interviewing athletes and other successful role models, working with mentors in the print and broadcast journalism community, and posting their work online at www.vvvillage.org. Students who complete the Virtual Voices Village program may be selected to be reporters for the 2010 Winter Games.

The Virtual Voices Village online community is a place where students of all ages with disabilities gather to participate and contribute content on a wide variety of topics. These students are publishing creative work and, while doing so, are gaining valuable literacy, leadership and employment skills. Leading up to 2010, student reporters will be contributing content regularly on a variety of topics, such as major sport events, the Cultural Olympiad, and the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays.

Please visit www.vvvillage.org to learn more about the program, see the students’ work, and find out how you can get involved.

Virtual Village Voices is a partnership of 2010 Legacies Now, 3M, SET BC and the Province of BC.
