Margy Osmond's background is in politics, corporate affairs and government relations. Appointed as Advisor to the NSW Minister for Business and Minister for Local Government in 1988, she became Chief of Staff for the NSW Minister for Business and Regional Development in 1993. She is:

  • A member of the NSW Police Minister's Advisory Council
  • Has chaired the State Government's Ministerial Taskforce on Fraud
  • Appointed to the NSW Industry Skills Forum
  • A member of the NSW Major Events Board
  • Chair of the Steering Committee for the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games

Margy established the Sydney 2000 Olympic Commerce Centre in 1997. The Centre guided thousands of businesses through a maze of tendering for Olympic contracts and provided tailored consultancy to major Australian organizations.

About the State Chamber of Commerce (New South Wales)
The Chamber is a source of comprehensive research on the impact of the Games on business and provides on-going advice to international organisations that are bidding or preparing to host a major event. As a result, the Chamber has marketed its Olympic business expertise to over 30 countries.

The Chamber is the one of the oldest businesses in Australia and the ancestor of all other major Chambers in the country, including the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It has been working for business for over 175 years.
