BC Sport Tourism Events Marketplace 2007

The 2007 BC Sport Tourism Events Marketplace, presented in partnership by the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts, Tourism BC and 2010 Legacies Now, saw increases in both attendance by tourism representatives and public awareness over previous years.

More than 100 people attended the marketplace networking and developing contacts to ensure positive and sustainable growth in BC's sport tourism industry.

The educational session in the morning focused on how PSOs and communities can work together to host successful events and offered insight on how events can better capitalize on their sponsorships. Meanwhile, the afternoon marketplace featured more than 120 meetings between PSOs and community tourism representatives working together to build on BC's reputation as a premier sport event hosting destination.
